Hailing from the home of contemporary electronic music comes new Australian name JVLY who has dropped a taste of his upcoming EP today with serene new single ‘me&her’. This dreamy affair features co-production from Swiss producer DRKTMS, however, it all began with the purchase of a brand-new analogue synthesizer. It was while experimenting with this fresh bit of kit that the initial sounds and chord progression for ‘me&her’ first emerged. As JVLY recalls, “Honestly, I wasn’t really trying to write a song at the time as I was just learning the ins and outs of designing sounds on this thing, and that’s when I hatched that pulsing synth that runs throughout the song.” Surrounding that distinctive synth element is a plethora of mellowed vocal samples, clips, elastic rhythms and static crackles, all wrapped up in mellowed atmosphere.
